What a Wednesday!

It was quite a day in DC with our young historians!  As you can tell from Laurie's pictures below and our Wednesday photo album, we were everywhere ... and having a ton of fun at each stop.  We began with a new stop on our tour - the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum out by Dulles. The kids loved it, and I have to say I was overwhelmed with the place.  The Enloa Gay, an actual Billy Mitchell plane (yay Milwaukee), the Discovery ... the list could go on.   We will be back again .. and again ... and again!  We then headed to lunch and a White House picture stop, where the kids spoke with a protester and took some photos.  Our Capitol tour was awesome, and while we didn't get to meet Senator Baldwin, thanks go out to her office for arranging the visit.  The Archives were closed, but a quick stop at the Navy Memorial helped ease the disappointment.  After dinner, we did the traditional memorial walk at night - WWII, Vietnam Veterans, Lincoln, and Korean War Veterans.  The kids (and parents) enjoyed each of the memorials and were ready for more ... but the pillows at the hotel called our names.    Most importantly, we welcomed Mr. Mussoline to the trip!  The kids are doing a fine job, learning and having a great time with each other.  Tomorrow ... off to Gettysburg!
